Audition Dates & Times: December 8 at 6:30 pm and December 9 at 6:30 pm. Please either bring completed audition paperwork or arrive early to complete it at the theater. Please bring a list of all conflicts from December 10 – February 16th.

Character Breakdown
Casting for 6 female roles and 6 male roles, all are welcome at auditions!
- Elwood P. Dowd – 35-60 male. A kind but eccentric man. The definition of “marches to the beat of his own drum”. Best friends with the invisible Harvey.
- Veta Louise Simmons – 30-60 female. The well-meaning but high-strung sister of Elwood and mother of Myrtle Mae.
- Myrtle Mae Simmons – 18-25 female. A strong-willed young woman ready for her life to begin and set on making sure Elwood doesn’t jeopardize it. Veta’s daughter.
- Miss Johnson – 18-45, female. The housekeeper of the Dowd house. This actor may also help with stage crew/stage management
- Mrs. Ethel Chauvenet – 60-80, female. Vera and Elwood’s close family friend. A sophisticated member of society.
- Nurse Ruth Kelly – 18-35, female. The sweet yet spunky young nurse who works at the sanitarium. Has a will-they/won’t-they relationship with Dr. Sanderson.
- Duane Wilson – 20-35, male. The strong-arm of the sanitarium. A no nonsense worker, rough around the edges.
- Dr. Lyman Sanderson 20-40, male. The main psychiatrist who sees patients at the sanitarium. Sure of himself with his fair share of ego.
- Dr. William R. Chumley – 50-80, male. The head doctor at the sanitarium, a highly intelligent and respected psychiatrist.
- Betty Chumley – 50-80, female. Dr. Chumley’s wife. A sweet, jolly, caring woman.
- Judge Omar Gaffney – 50-80, male. Elwood and Veta’s attorney. He’s known Elwood and Veta for a long time.
- E.J. Lofgren – 18-70, male. – A cab driver. A small role, but his lines are crucial to the show and its theme. We would like this actor to also help with stage crew/stage management
